What a busy day...The social studies test was given today, and my students felt confident that their grades were good. I will grade them tonight , and I will see for myself. I can't wait!I was selected for the Upper Cumberland Writing Project this summer! I feel so honored, and my students gave me a lot of support before my interview! Thank you for that!!!!! I will use their work and enthusiasm for my writing prompts to share with other teachers in surrounding counties. Next Thursday is our field trip. I need those permission slips!!!!! Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...........

Well, open house was, in my opinion, a success! Parents asked questions and voiced concerns about many things, and I really enjoyed listening to them. Thanks to all the parents that said such nice things about our teachers and our school! We couldn't do any of it without you!
I am so proud of my students for the wonderful grades on the science test! Kyle, Elizabeth, and Cameron made the highest grades, but the whole class worked hard and did a fantastic job!!!! Way to go!

Just another MANIC MONDAY! It was hard for us to get our brains on task today. Maybe it was the snow spitting outside, or maybe it was just January blues. But we did start on the last chapters of Island of the Blue Dolphins ,and the critics ( our class ) are raving over this wonderful book !Tomorrow the class will get their study guide for the social studies test on ancient Rome. The test is Thursday. If the snow comes and we are out that day, we will take it the day we get back. That also applies to our Friday spelling tests.Don't forget about open house tomorrow night from 5 to 7 !

Well, I know right now all my students are studying for the two tests they have tomorrow! Study hard! Don't forget about the open house next Tuesday night at 5 o'clock. What a great day we had today. We made a picture glossary of the land forms in our book Island of the Blue Dolphins. I was impressed with how great the students did on them! They seemed to have fun, too. Tomorrow is Friday????? What a short week!

Well, we are back to school with a vengeance and a happy heart! I was glad to hear that my students started to get bored with so much time on their hands. That made my job a lot easier! Now that we don't have rehearsals for the Christmas play, we can concentrate on our novel, Island of the Blue Dolphins, by Scott O'Dell. What a great book! We are already reading chapters 10-18 . Later,I will let you know the latest student critique of the book ......
